If I have to describe myself as a professional in 'old-school film terminology', I'd say I'm a freelance cameraman, often also an editor, sometimes a nature photographer and an allround 'filmmaker'. Of course that's too long and complicated, so in short: I'm the guy behind the (video) camera.

I've been working in the industry since 1998, so that's more than 20 years experience. I've shot music videos, commercials, lots of corporate videos but also documentary series for television and wildlife films for National Geographic and Animal Planet.

In 2019, I was head of the camera department for a cinema feature documentary about scientific research and conservation efforts on the Galapagos Islands.

  

For EYESEALAND Visual Media, I produce and/or direct most videos, but I have a database of trusted professionals I like to work with, so the team is always the best for that specific project.

 

My work is a lot more than just filming though: it's also about storytelling, people management, aesthetics, social skills, travelling, patience, making sure equipment works as it should and lots, lots more.

I love doing what I do, whether close to home or in some far away place. It's the people and stories that make it interesting, behind and in front of the camera.
